 Exhibition at German Consulate General, Miami, Florida:                
                   "Coming to America"

Perfect for the consulate as an exhibition, the first in their series of on-going exhibitions of Germans - Coming to American is Susanne Nielsen's pictoral ( paired with poems that tell the) story, one with each composed segment of this leaving and coming to a new country - America, Susanne Nielsen brought the view of a child's journey into a new culture which she experienced in the 1960s. The daily visitors requesting or renewing their passports and other German- American relationships facilitated by the consular staff would see and relate well to this exhibition. Shown in 2009 this was the second exhibition of the series. The first having been presented in the country of the artist's origin, Germany, now it had traveled as had she, "Coming to America" - a second time ( the paintings were created in the US) as she had also , returning to live in the US with her husband at age 30.

             Exhibition "Fernsicht - Looking Afar"

                                    Galerie WortArt, Wiesbaden, Germany

This exhibition followed the bus project and had Susanne install her work, expanded by the long wall hanging paintings in the entire gallery for a solo exhibition. WortArt Gallery is in the home town of the artist, Wiesbaden, Germany. Paintings were accompanied by poems that described each scene and the words in English and German of nursery rhymes, songs and sayings, poetry written into a friendship book by parents , aunts and uncles and their portraits and favorite childhood friends, toys or settings.
